Le Secrétaire général de l’Onu, Antonio Guterres, a nommé jeudi la marocaine Najat Rochdi représentante spéciale adjointe pour la Mission intégrée multidimensionnelle de stabilisation des Nations Unies en République centrafricaine (MINUSCA), coordonnatrice humanitaire et représentante résidente du Programme des Nations Unies pour le Développement (PNUD) en RCA.
La nouvelle représentante du PNUD remplace à ce poste le Chilien Fabrizio Hochschild qui n’est resté un an à ce poste. Najat Rochdi a déjà occupé ce même poste au Cameroun.
Cette titulaire d’un doctorat en mathématiques et en Ingénierie informatique de l’Institut national de statistique et d’économie appliquée et de l’Université de Montréal, a assumé plusieurs responsabilités au Maroc avant de rejoindre le PNUD, notamment celles de secrétaire générale au Département de l’économie sociale et des PME, où elle avait été nommée en juillet 2002.
