Alkimia Chemical Company announced on February 5, 2026, a significant decline in its industrial and commercial performance for the fiscal year ending on December 31, 2025, in a context marked by increased international competition and loss of competitiveness. At the end of 2025, the company’s overall production stood at 22,891 tonnes, compared to 28,974 tonnes the previous year, representing a 21% decrease. This production is divided between 14,220 tonnes of Sodium Tri-Poly Phosphate (STPP – Na₅P₃O₁₀) and 8,671 tonnes of crystallized MAP.
According to Alkimia, this decline is mainly due to a highly competitive international environment, increasingly favoring industrial players with integrated production chains.
On the commercial side, the company generated a turnover of 100.0 million dinars (approximately 32.0 million dollars) as of December 31, 2025, compared to 107.2 million dinars (approximately 34.3 million dollars) at the same period in 2024. This represents a 6.7% decrease, in line with the contraction of product volumes sold.
A cash flow under pressure
Alkimia also reports a increasingly tight cash flow situation, a consequence of the reduced operation of production units, the decrease in turnover, and the growing weight of fixed charges due to under-activity.
In this context, the capital increase of 20 million dinars (approximately 6.4 million dollars), partially released, is being used for the development of the project to produce 80,000 tonnes of NPK, in powdered and granulated form. This strategic project has reached a key milestone with the completion of basic and detailed studies.
Furthermore, the company indicated that the Board of Directors of its subsidiary Alkimia-Packaging, meeting on December 4, 2025, decided to launch a national and international consultation for the sale of its glass microbead manufacturing unit located in Gabes. This operation aims to allow the group to refocus on its core business, focused on chemical product packaging, by seeking a strategic or financial investor.
