The Association of Large Enterprises of Togo (AGET) has a new face. Gathered at the annual general assembly on June 19, 2026 in Lomé, the members of the Togolese employers’ federation elected Charles Kokouvi Gaffan, CEO of Africa Global Logistics-Togo (AGL-Togo), as the president of the organization for a three-year term. He succeeds Jonas Aklésso Daou, CEO of Zener International Holding Group, who led AGET for six years, two consecutive terms – a record of longevity since the association was created.
A familiar figure in the Togolese private sector, the new head of the employers’ organization led Bolloré Transport & Logistics’ Togolese subsidiaries before taking over Africa Global Logistics (AGL) following the acquisition of Bolloré Group’s African activities by Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) in 2022. He is also not a stranger to AGET, where he held the vice presidency in the outgoing board. With his background in maritime transport, logistics, and trade, he has also been the president of the European Chamber of Commerce in Togo (EUROCHAM-Togo) since 2019.
“We are aware of the challenges ahead of us, but we also carry hope and unwavering determination to contribute to the economic advancement of our beloved country,” he said, advocating for dialogue and collaboration as action levers.
The outgoing president leaves behind a more credible and influential organization on the scene. “The Togolese private sector must evolve from a reactive posture to an anticipatory one,” emphasized Jonas Daou, calling for the coming years to be ones of “anticipation, influence, and structuring.” He was awarded a distinction in recognition of his work.
