Les rapatriements des Sénégalais de l’étranger représentent 833 milliards de fr cfa, soit 11% du Pib du pays. Suffisant pour que Cbao AttijariwafaBank lance une stratégie spéciale en faveur de cette niche porteuse dans le cadre de son plan de développement stratégique dénommé « Excellence 2017 ».
La Cbao Attijariwafa Bank, par la voix de son administrateur Directeur général, Abdel Krim Raghni a annoncé sa ferme volonté d’intensifier ses efforts en direction des populations sénégalaises de migrants. Il s’agit d’une meilleure prise en charge des 3 millions de Sénégalais vivant à l’étranger. La banque est persuadée que cette diaspora dynamique représente le premier poste de revenus du pays même si elle est peu bancarisée. La population migrante va ainsi bénéficier d’un traitement de faveur qui sera visible à partir de l’accueil à l’aéroport international Léopold Sédar Senghor. Par ailleurs la Cbao entend jouer un rôle de premier plan et apporter un soutien massif au plan Sénégal émergent(Pse), actuel référentiel des pouvoirs publics sénégalais en matière de développement économique. L’accompagnement de l’Etat se fera à travers le financement de projets structurants du plan notamment en matière de création de nouvelles infrastructures dans les domaines routier, portuaire ou aéroportuaire. A l’image de la Côte d’Ivoire et du Gabon, le Sénégal s’est donc doté d’un plan de développement économique hardi pour accéder à l’émergence. Première banque sénégalaise avec une hausse de 3 % du produit net bancaire par rapport à l’exercice 2013, la Cbao Attijariwafa Bank est aujourd’hui classée 140ème banque en Afrique. Elle s’apprête à lancer dans les meilleurs délais de nouveaux produits comme wafa cash (transfert d’argent) et wafa assurance. La banque entend ainsi booster le marché sénégalais des assurances qui connaît un faible taux de pénétration estimé à 15%.
