Attijariwafa Bank has announced the appointment of Daouda Coulibaly as Regional Director for West Africa. This designation is part of the strengthening of the regional governance of the Moroccan banking group, which is present in around twenty countries on the continent.
Mr. Coulibaly, who has been the General Manager of Attijari West Africa (AWA) since 2021, will retain his current responsibilities while taking on his new regional coordination duties. He is also the Deputy General Manager and a member of the group’s Coordination and Synergies Committee.
The new organization aims to accelerate the development of Attijariwafa Bank’s activities in West Africa, a strategic region that includes several subsidiaries of the group, notably in Senegal, Ivory Coast, Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger.
A graduate of the Ecole Centrale de Paris and holder of an MBA from the University of Chicago, Daouda Coulibaly has spent most of his career within the Attijariwafa Bank group, where he has held several management positions. His experience and knowledge of the West African market are expected to strengthen the coherence and performance of the regional network.
The banking group has expressed confidence in Mr. Coulibaly’s abilities to continue the expansion and synergy dynamics within the zone, while maintaining close relationships with local economic actors.
