Wafa Assurance’s consolidated issued premiums reached 10.031 billion dirhams in the first half of 2026, compared to 7.883 billion a year earlier, representing a 27.2% increase. This amount is equivalent to approximately 1.08 billion dollars, based on an indicative rate of 9.3 dirhams to 1 dollar. The increase is mainly driven by the Life activity and the contribution of the group’s African subsidiaries.
In the second quarter of 2026, consolidated issued premiums stood at 3.631 billion dirhams, up 2.8% from a year earlier, approximately 390.4 million dollars. The increase recorded in the first half of the year is significantly higher than that of the second quarter alone.
Life activity saw a 41.9% increase in issued premiums, reaching 5.470 billion dirhams at the end of June 2026, compared to approximately 3.855 billion a year earlier. This represents a growth of 41.9%, equivalent to around 588.2 million dollars.
According to Wafa Assurance, this growth is mainly due to the collection recorded in the Savings activity during the semester.
Non-Life activity generated 4.561 billion dirhams in issued premiums, up 13.3% from a year earlier, approximately 490.4 million dollars.
Social turnover increased by 25.4%
At Wafa Assurance Morocco, social turnover reached 8.299 billion dirhams in the first half of 2026, compared to approximately 6.618 billion a year earlier, a 25.4% increase, equivalent to around 892.4 million dollars.
Social turnover for the Life activity reached 4.456 billion dirhams, a 46% increase, approximately 479.1 million dollars. This growth is notably linked to operations in Savings and the contribution of Provident.
On the other hand, Non-Life activity turnover amounted to 3.843 billion dirhams, up 7.7% from a year earlier, approximately 413.2 million dollars.
In the second quarter alone, Wafa Assurance Morocco’s social turnover stood at 2.908 billion dirhams, compared to 2.923 billion in the second quarter of 2025. It thus decreased by 0.5%, approximately 312.7 million dollars for the second quarter of 2026.
Consolidated investments reach 71 billion dirhams
As of June 30, 2026, the group’s consolidated investments amounted to 71 billion dirhams, up 2.2% from December 31, 2025. Consolidated technical provisions reached 56 billion dirhams, a 5.9% increase in the first six months of the year, approximately 6.02 billion dollars.
For Wafa Assurance Morocco, investments allocated to insurance operations reached 49.9 billion dirhams, up 4.1%, approximately 5.37 billion dollars. Net reinsurance technical provisions reached 50.2 billion dirhams, an 8% increase, approximately 5.40 billion dollars.
The consolidation scope of the group, composed of Wafa Assurance and its African subsidiaries, has not changed compared to December 31, 2025. The accounts for the first half of 2026 notably include the contribution of the Egyptian subsidiaries, consolidated since the fourth quarter of 2025.
