The EFF Geneva 2026 brings together African issuers, European Islamic financial institutions, and the diaspora around ethical investment
GENEVA, October 4, 2026 — The Ethical Finance Forum Geneva 2026 (EFF Geneva 2026) opens tomorrow, October 5, at the Hotel President Wilson in Geneva. Organized by AIIF Global Advisory, this two-day event brings together African sovereign issuers, Islamic financial institutions, ethical wealth managers, and diaspora representatives with a common goal: Developing ethical finance in Europe and transforming diaspora savings into productive investment in Africa.
The Forum also welcomes leading European institutions in wealth management and Sharia-compliant financial services, illustrating the growing maturity of the Islamic financial ecosystem in Europe. Saturna Capital, a sponsor partner of EFF Geneva 2026 and a recognized manager for its Amana funds and listed investment vehicles accessible to European individual investors and the diaspora, plays a central role among the Forum’s speakers. Alongside them, KT Bank AG, the only participative bank offering Sharia-compliant mortgage services in Europe, completes this panorama of Islamic banking and wealth management offerings in Europe.
One of the highlights of the Forum is the participation of Issa Malgoubri, Managing Director of SGI-IFI (Burkina Faso), just weeks after successfully structuring his country’s sovereign Sukuk and a Diaspora Bonds issuance of 151.5 billion FCFA, listed on the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM) in September 2026. This operation, one of the most significant Islamic finance transactions in the WAEMU zone this year, concretely demonstrates the ability of African Islamic capital markets to mobilize savings — including those of the diaspora. As a Platinum Partner of the Forum, Mr. Malgoubri will share his experience during a dedicated session of Plenary 2, focused on transforming diaspora savings into investment.
The diversity of the ecosystem represented in Geneva is also reflected in the presence of institutions with various mandates: the High Waqf Authority of Senegal, a religious and regulatory authority on Waqf assets; United Financial Partners from Benin and Togo; leading Swiss banking solution providers such as Capital Banking Solutions; as well as Sharia-compliant trade finance specialists like INOKS Capital. This variety of actors — regulators, asset managers, banks, banking technology providers, and trade finance specialists — illustrates the breadth of the ecosystem that EFF Geneva 2026 brings together towards a common goal.
Beyond the plenary sessions, EFF Geneva 2026 aims to be a networking platform. Companies, financial institutions, diaspora investors, and project developers present on-site are invited to seize this unique opportunity to exchange, explore concrete partnerships, and collectively build the next Islamic and ethical finance transactions between Africa and Europe.
The Forum will also feature AKPLAS, a partner of AIIF Global Advisory and one of the world leaders in irrigation, as a flagship case study of EFF Geneva 2026. AKPLAS uses Islamic financing to develop agriculture in emerging countries, and its presentation will be held in the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of La Banque Agricole du Sénégal — a concrete illustration of the convergence between Islamic finance, agricultural innovation, and leading African financial institutions.
“This week, Geneva hosts an essential conversation: how to meet the strong demand for ethical finance products in the face of almost non-existent supply, and how to transform our diaspora savings into productive investment for our economies,” says Mouhamadou Lamine Mbacké, CEO of AIIF Global Advisory and organizer of EFF Geneva 2026. “The recent success of SGI-IFI in Burkina Faso, the presence of Saturna Capital and a diverse financial ecosystem, and the case study provided by AKPLAS on Islamic financing for agriculture, in the presence of La Banque Agricole du Sénégal, precisely illustrate what this Forum seeks to achieve: connecting capital, institutions, and opportunities.”
EFF Geneva 2026 takes place on October 5 and 6, 2026 at the Hotel President Wilson, Geneva.
