Lomé: BOAD Development Days 2026
- Dates: June 11–12, 2026
- Venue: 2 Février Hotel, Lomé (Togo)
Context and Key Challenges
Within the West African Economic and Monetary Union, rapid population growth is placing increasing pressure on urban areas, particularly in terms of access to quality housing. This trend is creating major structural challenges related to urbanization, housing finance, and energy sustainability.
In this context, housing emerges as a strategic driver of economic growth, capable of stimulating the financial sector and generating employment. At the same time, integrating energy considerations into the building sector has become essential to reduce household costs and strengthen energy sovereignty across member states.
Organized by the West African Development Bank, this edition of the BOAD Development Days builds on a first edition focused on energy and agriculture. It aims to position itself as a regional platform for structuring bankable projects, aligned with green growth, climate finance, and sustainable development priorities, as well as with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).
Objectives of the Event
- Catalyze public and private investment in the housing sector (across all segments)
