Jules Ngankam, Managing Director of the African Guarantee Fund (AGF) since 2020, left his position on January 30, 2026 within the group he joined in 2013 as Chief Financial Officer. In a message posted on social networks on February 8, the Cameroonian financier hailed a milestone that he considers the “greatest honor” of his professional life, without however communicating about his future plans.
“We warmly thank Jules Ngankam, whose term as group Managing Director ended on January 31, 2026. His leadership has been crucial in strengthening the impact and effectiveness of the AGF on the continent,” the group announced the day before.
As a reminder, it was after 9 years at the helm of the group that Ivorian Felix Bikpo stepped down in July 2020 from the Managing Director position, which was then entrusted to Jules Ngankam, appointed Deputy Managing Director in April 2017. Felix Bikpo then became the Chairman of the Board of Directors.
At the helm of the organization now, the interim is ensured by the Franco-Ivorian Constant N’zi, who was previously Deputy Managing Director and Risk Director, with over 20 years of experience in the financial services and investment banking sector. He has a wealth of experience in Africa and Europe. Before joining AGF, Constant worked for Natixis Paris as a risk management consultant. He then worked for various companies, including the BPCE group, Lyxor Asset Management, and Société Générale, in risk management. He also has entrepreneurial experience after founding and leading Sunze Technologie, a company operating in the fields of solar energy and energy efficiency. Constant holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration with a specialization in finance from ESSEC Business School in France and a Master’s degree in Statistics and Economics from ENSEA (School of Statistics and Economics) in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
He takes over a group with an AA rating from Fitch agency, and which claims to have created over 500,000 jobs through its $6.5 billion in loans to businesses on the continent.
