At the head of the Afrik Finances Group, formerly Afrik Créances, Blaise Ahouantchédé wants to build a new pan-African player in financial innovation. The former CEO of GIM-UEMOA, a graduate of Polytechnique, Dauphine and Harvard, has a clear ambition: to make the group a financial hub serving the clean-up of portfolios, financing African economies and mobilizing endogenous resources.
Created in 2022, Afrik Finances is already present in five countries: Ivory Coast, Senegal, Togo, Guinea Conakry and Mauritius. The group aims to establish itself in ten countries by 2031, with an offer structured around centralized debt management, debt collection, credit brokerage, fundraising, consulting, technical assistance, training, support for SMEs, financial education, as well as debt portage and repurchase.
As a partner of States, central banks, banks, financial institutions, guarantee funds and insurance companies, Afrik Finances intends to position itself on the major issues of African finance: treatment of non-performing loans, financing of the private and public sector, financial innovation and economic inclusion.
In this dynamic, the group announces the holding of the 5th edition of the International Forum on Intermediation, Digital and Innovation, FONI 2026, scheduled from October 19 to 22, 2026 in Conakry, Guinea. Under the theme “Financing of the agricultural, real estate and mining sectors in Africa”, the event will be preceded by two days of masterclasses and will bring together several personalities from the economic and financial world.
A new African champion in finance seems to be wanting to take its place in the continental ecosystem.
