Afreximbank has announced the appointment of five executives to regional roles, as part of a reorganization aimed at strengthening its market coverage in Africa and the Caribbean.
Eric Monchu has been appointed as Group Managing Director for Client Relations and Regional Operations, based in Cairo. He previously held this position on an interim basis. His responsibilities include commercial development, customer relationship management, and operations execution.
Kudakwashe Matereke will now lead regional operations for Anglophone West Africa, based in Abuja. He previously oversaw operations in East Africa.
Humphrey Nwugo has been named Director of Regional Operations for East Africa, based in Kampala. He previously held similar roles in Southern Africa.
Peter Olowononi will oversee regional operations in Southern Africa from Harare. He previously served as Head of Client Relations for Anglophone West Africa.
In the Caribbean, Roy Reid will become Director of Operations at the Bridgetown regional office, starting July 15. A former senior advisor to the Jamaican Prime Minister, he brings experience in financial services, investment management, and financial technologies.
Afreximbank states that these changes are intended to support the development of its activities, particularly in trade finance and regional operations.
