Tangier: The MEDays 2023 Forum
Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Amadeus Institute is organizing the 15th edition of MEDays from November 15 to 18 in Tangier, to explore all facets of the 2023 theme of the “Forum du Sud”: “Polycrise, Polymonde”.
Over the course of 4 days, numerous political decision-makers, business leaders and leading experts will debate the main geopolitical, economic and social issues shaking the planet: economic and health crises, geopolitical tensions, sustainable development challenges, and the crisis in the Middle East, among others.
Here’s an overview of some of the key debates among the fifty or so sessions on the program:
- MEDays Investments Summit: Several sessions will be devoted to investment and development opportunities in Africa and emerging countries. Topics will include promoting sustainable development, infrastructure and industry, and exploring new trade and investment opportunities in Africa.
- Discussion on Security in Africa: An analysis of the security challenges facing Africa, with a focus on African security policies and foreign military interventions.
- Education and Economic Sovereignty: A session devoted to investing in education as a vector for development and economic sovereignty.
- Agriculture and Food Security: A debate on investing in agriculture to solve the puzzle of food insecurity and strengthen food sovereignty.
- Energy and Sustainable Development: Discussions on strategies to achieve full electrification of the African continent by 2030 and the importance of investment in water to ensure water security and sovereignty.
- Geopolitics and International Relations: Several sessions will address current global geopolitical challenges, including the rivalry between the USA and China, migration crises, and relations between the USA and the Islamic world.
- Middle East Crisis: Exploring the regional and global implications, as well as ongoing diplomatic efforts to bring about a short-term ceasefire and the necessary re-engagement of the peace process leading to a two-state solution.
- Technology and Cybersecurity: Exploring the challenges and opportunities of digitalization, particularly as regards cybersecurity and hybrid threats.
Thanks to its wealth of topical content, the MEDays Forum confirms its position as one of the most important non-governmental events, making it once again one of the leading international geostrategic events in Africa and the Arab world.
