The new headquarters of Coris Bank International Burkina is officially open. The inauguration ceremony of this “iconic building with strong institutional value” took place on April 3, 2026, in the presence of Prime Minister Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo. The construction cost is estimated at 19.6 billion FCFA.
After 5 years of work, involving 5 specialized companies and an investment of 19.6 billion FCFA, a 14-story building emerged in the ZACA (Commercial and Administrative Development Zone) on Avenue Léo Frobenius in Ouagadougou. This large-scale project of Coris Bank International Burkina was officially inaugurated. It is a work designed in a “contemporary architectural style” that gives the business district a new image of a growing city.
Built on 3172 m2, reflecting a dense and optimized program, the building follows a conceptual approach based on the volumetric transposition of the letter “C”, in reference to CORIS. Inaugurated in the presence of the Burkinabe Prime Minister Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo, who emphasized the significance of each structuring investment, responsible private initiative, and commitment to the national economy in the Burkinabe context.
The Burkinabe subsidiary currently has 65 branches in Ouagadougou and throughout the country. The Prime Minister, accompanied by several ministers, praised the building as more than just a banking facility but as a concrete expression of a national ambition to build strong, efficient, and sustainable financial institutions that can support the structural transformation of the economy in Burkina Faso.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by the President of the Legislative Assembly of the People (ALP), Dr. Ousmane Bougouma, as the guest of honor, and the Minister in charge of the economy, Dr. Aboubacar Nacanabo, who is also the President of the Council of Ministers of the UEMOA.
The Burkinabe subsidiary, with 65 branches in Ouagadougou and across the country, aims to strengthen its infrastructure and development vision through this project. The Director General of CBI Burkina, Gisèle Gumedzoé, stated that the inauguration symbolizes both the progress made and the ambitions for the future, emphasizing the institution’s modern working environment to support growth and new dynamics in the banking sector.
This new headquarters of CBI Burkina has a capacity of approximately 700 users, with workspaces consisting of offices, open spaces, a training room, 7 meeting rooms, a boardroom, a director’s committee room, an infirmary, and a cafeteria. The President of the Coris Group, Idrissa Nassa, present at the inauguration, saw his vision recognized and appreciated by his colleagues.
Founded in 2008, the bank now belongs to the Coris Group, present in 12 African countries. Ranked as the second bank in the UEMOA in 2023, Coris Bank International aims to represent Burkina Faso in the African financial space through this investment.
