Four years after entering the Algerian Takaful insurance market, GAM Assurances’ Takaful window is undergoing a major strategic repositioning. The insurer announces the adoption of a new commercial identity, TAKAFULIA LI TAAMINAT, symbolizing a phase of consolidation and acceleration of its development. This new brand was officially presented on January 27th in Algiers.
This change comes as the Takaful insurance segment is gradually maturing in Algeria. It reflects the operator’s desire to strengthen the coherence and visibility of its offering, while supporting the rise of an insurance model based on principles of mutualization, transparency, and responsibility, in compliance with Islamic finance rules.
A governance framework based on compliance
GAM Assurances’ Takaful window is the first general Takaful window to obtain approval from the Ministry of Finance, before receiving, in 2022, the Shariah compliance certification for its contracts issued by the National Shariah Authority for Islamic Finance Fatwa Industry, under the Islamic High Committee. These advancements, according to the company, have established a governance system based on transparency of operations, management discipline, and protection of participants’ interests, all essential elements of the Takaful model.
With TAKAFULIA LI TAAMINAT, GAM Assurances aims to affirm a strategic vision focused on the sustainable structuring of its Takaful activity.
