The Italian think tank The European House – Ambrosetti (TEHA) brought together key players at the first International Forum on Investments in Côte d’Ivoire, held on October 15, 2026 at the Sofitel Abidjan Hotel Ivoire. The event officially marks the launch of the promotional tour of the Mattei Plan for Africa, the strategic cooperation and development program launched by the Italian government on January 29, 2024, following the Italy-Africa Summit in Rome. Through this roadmap, Rome aims to intensify its economic and institutional partnerships in 18 African countries.
Chaired by Nialé Kaba, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, representing the Prime Minister, Robert Beugré Mambé, the event’s sponsor, the opening ceremony laid the foundation for enhanced synergy between the Italian private sector and the Ivorian economy. National authorities welcomed an initiative that strengthens Côte d’Ivoire’s positioning as an attractive investment hub in the West African sub-region.
At the heart of the announcements made by the Ivorian diplomatic chief is the mobilization of a total envelope of 639 million euros, approximately 420 billion CFA francs. Announced at this forum initiated by the TEHA think tank, this envelope reflects the strong commitment of Italian donors and investors to support the country’s socio-economic development through structural financing.
These funds will finance around ten major projects, focusing on essential pillars of the national economy: agriculture, health, vocational training, digital transformation, and industrialization.
