A major urban project in sight
Jean-Christophe Bonnois has been appointed General Manager of the Nouakchott Coastal Development Company, in a strategic context marked by the acceleration of a vast urban development project on the coastal front of the Mauritanian capital.
Spanning over 1,000 hectares, this structuring program aims to permanently reshape the face of Nouakchott by reconciling economic development, environmental preservation, and improvement of the living environment. At the heart of this transformation: the enhancement of the coastline through the establishment of modern infrastructure, accessible public spaces, residential areas, and diversified economic activities.
The project places particular importance on climate resilience issues, including combating coastal erosion and integrating green spaces, with the objective of making the coastline a model of sustainable development adapted to contemporary environmental challenges.
With his experience in leading complex projects internationally, Jean-Christophe Bonnois will be tasked with overseeing the operational implementation of this vision, coordinating the various partners, and ensuring the achievement of technical, financial, and social objectives. His role will be central in structuring the different phases of the project and ensuring execution in accordance with international standards.
Beyond its urban dimension, this initiative also aims to generate significant socio-economic impact, particularly through job creation, strengthening the attractiveness of Nouakchott, and improving the living conditions of the population.
This appointment thus represents a key step in realizing an ambitious vision for the Nouakchott coastline, driven by a dynamic partnership between public and private actors.
