🔹 Under Presidential Patronage
The MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power 2025 conference and exhibition will be held under the High Patronage of Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, President of the Republic of Senegal, at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Center (CICAD) in Dakar, with a pre-conference day on December 8 and the main conference taking place on December 9–10, 2025.
The presidential patronage underscores the strategic importance of the MSGBC basin for national and regional development, boosting investor confidence and reaffirming Senegal’s commitment to attracting capital into the energy, oil, and mining sectors. It enhances the event’s profile and assures stakeholders that the energy sector is a national priority.
Over the past two years, President Faye has taken bold steps to modernize Senegal’s energy sector. Under his leadership, major milestones have been achieved:
-
Senegal’s entry into the global LNG market with the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) offshore project and the country’s first LNG export in April 2025.
-
The successful production start at the Sangomar offshore oil field, with over 9.1 million barrels exported in the second quarter of 2025 and a target of 30.5 million barrels for the year.
These achievements not only strengthen Senegal’s energy security but also generate revenues, jobs, and industrial opportunities.
Beyond the energy sector, President Faye launched a comprehensive economic recovery plan in August 2025 aimed at reducing the budget deficit to 3%, stabilizing national debt, and mobilizing domestic resources. These reforms are aligned with the broader Vision 2050, which aspires to transform Senegal into a diversified, resilient, and innovation-driven economy by mid-century.
🔹 Regional Outlook
Under President Faye’s High Patronage, the 2025 edition will not only showcase Senegal’s fast-growing energy sector but also serve as a catalyst for regional prosperity, innovation, and collaboration across West Africa.
