By way of a statement read this Wednesday, January 21 on the national television (RTI) by the Secretary General of the Presidency, Masséré Touré-Koné, President Alassane Ouattara officially appointed Robert Beugré Mambé as Prime Minister.
As soon as the appointment was made public, the President instructed the Prime Minister to submit a new government team as soon as possible. This directive highlights the urgency of the challenges to be met and the need for the executive branch to quickly get organized. Robert Beugré Mambé, who had already formed a government of 33 members during his first term in October 2023, is now working on composing a team capable of translating the presidential ambitions into concrete actions.
This reappointment follows logically from a journey that began on October 16, 2023, when Mr. Mambé succeeded his predecessor with the dual role of Prime Minister and Minister of Sports and Urban Planning. His first term was marked by rigorous management of public affairs and active coordination of development projects. By keeping him at the head of the government, Alassane Ouattara is counting on the experience and mastery of cross-cutting issues by the former Governor of the Abidjan District.
Welcoming this renewed trust “with honor and humility”, the Prime Minister reaffirmed his total commitment to serving the Nation. In an official statement, he clarified that the upcoming government action will remain faithful to the vision of inclusive and balanced development. The objective remains clear: to build a “Great Ivory Coast” full of hope for all layers of the population, by consolidating the country’s economic and social achievements.
