MBTP SA is establishing itself as a key player in the construction sector in the Democratic Republic of the Congo with the recent delivery of two major projects, notably the new headquarters of the Constitutional Court and the completion of the Raxio data center in Kinshasa.
These achievements, inaugurated last June, demonstrate the company’s ability to successfully complete large-scale projects within respected deadlines and according to the most demanding international standards.
The new building of the Constitutional Court, a pyramid-shaped structure inspired by the Nyiragongo volcano, is an exceptional work. Located on Place Royale in the Gombe commune, this building symbolizes the strengthening of the rule of law in the DRC. Launched at the end of August 2023 by President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi, the work was carried out strictly within the 12-month deadline.
Meanwhile, the 1.5 MW Raxio data center, resulting from a $30 million investment, positions the DRC on the map of African digital technology. The infrastructure, certified Tier III by the Uptime Institute, can accommodate up to 400 racks on its 1,542 m² and is an essential pillar for the country’s digital economy.
Recognized expertise by institutions
The trust placed in MBTP SA by leading institutions illustrates the recognition of its expertise. The United Nations Development Program (UNDP), which co-financed 35% of the construction of the Constitutional Court headquarters alongside the Congolese state (65%), praised the quality of the work carried out.
“These projects reflect the maturity of MBTP SA and its ability to meet the expectations of the most demanding partners,” emphasizes Hassan Attie, CEO of the MBTP SA group. “Whether it is the UNDP for the Constitutional Court or the Raxio Group for the data center, our clients trust us for critical infrastructures that shape the institutional and economic future of the DRC,” he adds.
MBTP SA’s expertise is evident in the technical diversity of these projects. For the Constitutional Court, the company has successfully combined architectural symbolism and functionality, creating a space with three courtrooms, a modern library, and administrative spaces tailored to the needs of the country’s highest jurisdiction.
Regarding the Raxio data center, MBTP SA’s teams have demonstrated their mastery of cutting-edge technologies, contributing to providing the DRC with a digital infrastructure meeting international standards, essential to support the country’s digital transformation.
While it is clear that these achievements are part of a broader dynamic of developing Congolese infrastructure, they confirm MBTP SA’s position as a key partner for structuring projects, both for public institutions and international private investors.
