Accra : African Energy Technology Conference (AETC)
THEME: “AFRICA AT THE FOREFRONT OF ENERGY TECHNOLOGY AND POLICY INTEGRATION FOR A JUST ENERGY TRANSITION
The global push for a net-zero carbon future is an opportunity for Ghanaian policy-makers and stakeholders to discuss the technological advances that can lead to a just energy transition, and embrace carbon-free energy technology.
This topic, which follows on from the COP’s decision to phase out fossil fuels, is likely to disrupt the African energy market, which has been tested by global crises and is seeking to catch up economically with offshore and onshore wells, some of which were discovered less than five years ago. It is against this backdrop that the government is organizing the first African Energy Technology Conference (AETC), to be held in Accra from March 12 to 14, 2024, through the Africa Energy Technology Centre, in partnership with the Ministry of Energy.
Distinguished speakers include President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and other leading figures in the energy sector. Highlighting the technological advances that can lead to a just energy transition, this forum will feature engaging discussions, keynote speeches and panel sessions to explore the latest advances in energy technology, political integration and the path to a sustainable future.
Recognizing the importance of inclusivity, AETC dedicates sessions to women in energy and the next generation in energy. These initiatives aim to bridge gender gaps, empower young people and highlight their crucial role in shaping the energy landscape.
