Deloitte Africa has appointed Yomi Olugbenro as the Managing Director for West Africa, with his start date scheduled for June 1, 2026. He will succeed Fatai Folarin, who will be stepping down at the end of May after a transition period.
Prior to this appointment, Yomi Olugbenro was the Tax Leader for West Africa and a Senior Partner at Deloitte. He is known for his expertise in corporate taxation, transfer pricing, regulatory advisory, and tax litigation, and has led cross-border operations and compliance for large corporations. He has also represented the private sector in discussions on Nigerian tax reform.
A graduate in accounting with an MBA from the University of Manchester, Olugbenro is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He chairs the tax faculty board of ICAN and has over twenty years of experience in the banking, industrial, consumer goods, and professional services sectors.
According to the firm, operating in the areas of audit and assurance, taxation, consulting, risk management consulting, and financial consulting, his tax expertise and deep knowledge of the West African market are expected to support the group in its expansion and artificial intelligence integration initiatives.
