In November 2025, the Port of Pointe-Noire received the award for best transit traffic in integrating sub-regional economies for the year 2024 during the 9th edition of the African Ports Awards organized on the sidelines of the 45th Annual Council of the Association of West and Central African Ports Management (AGPAOC). This award confirms the attractiveness of the Port of Pointe-Noire for the sub-region thanks to the continuous investments that Congo Terminal makes in the container terminal.
“Congo Terminal has already invested over 350 million euros in Phase 1 at the Pointe-Noire container terminal in infrastructure development, acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment, and staff training to make Pointe-Noire the ocean gateway of Central Africa. We are proud to see that this objective is valued by this Award. With the additional 400 million euros that we are currently investing in the new port platform at Môle Est, which constitutes Phase 2, we are convinced that Congo will strengthen its position as a transit country for the sub-region,” said Anthony Samzun, General Manager of Congo Terminal.
“We are proud of the public-private partnership concluded with Congo Terminal that led to this valuable result. We will continue to combine our efforts to ensure that the service to Pointe-Noire remains a key stop for enthusiasts,” said Séraphin Bhalat, General Manager of the Autonomous Port of Pointe-Noire.
This award is given to the Port of Pointe-Noire at the same time as Congo Terminal continues its investment program in the container terminal. The company is building a new port platform at Môle Est to increase transit volumes and make the Port of Pointe-Noire the reference port in deep waters and the excellence platform for transshipment along the entire southern part of the West African coast.
