With a meteoric growth, Kapital Assurances is now established as one of the most structured firms in the Senegalese market in terms of consulting and engineering for industrial and institutional risks. In the span of one year, its activity has multiplied by five, bringing its portfolio under management to nearly 8 billion FCFA. This increase in power is based on demanding technical organization and a proven ability to handle complex risks, especially in reinsurance.
The arrival of Majdi Yassine on the Board of Directors marks a strategic turning point. With over twenty years of experience in large risks – including fifteen years within the Sanlam group – he has contributed to structuring some of the main industrial policies in the Senegalese market. His trademark: analytical rigor, technical mastery, and the ability to align local needs with international standards, notably through his privileged access to specialized markets like Lloyd’s.
Around him, Kapital Assurances has assembled a high-level team, accumulating over 65 years of experience in major risks. Edouard Jean Léopold Diop, Corporate & Reinsurance Director and professor at the Inter-African Institute for Insurance and Business Management (IFAGE), brings over 25 years of expertise, including nine years in the technical and reinsurance direction of Sanlam. Al Housseynou Seye, International Account Manager, also with over 25 years of experience, has participated in the underwriting and monitoring of strategic projects such as Senelec, Tobene Power, ICS, DP World, Woodside, Cairn Energy, Dangote, and the Taiba Ndiaye Wind Farm. Similarly, Bamba Mbengue, Operations Director, complements the team with solid experience acquired at Ascoma, Allianz, and Banque Atlantique, bringing a comprehensive vision of managing complex risks.
Together, these specialists have managed over 20 billion FCFA in industrial claims, including a major case of 14 billion FCFA, demonstrating rare technical expertise in handling large-scale events. The year 2025 once again illustrated this efficiency, with the recovery of a fire claim of 1.2 billion FCFA for a key player in distribution. Former president of the Oil and Gas Pool, Majdi Yassine also contributed to structuring the Oil & Gas coverage for the Woodside project, strengthening Kapital Assurances’ footprint in energy risks and international programs.
Following the due diligence conducted by Financial Afrik, three attributes consistently stand out: integrity, professionalism, and seriousness. These elements help strengthen the market’s confidence in a firm now perceived as a top-notch technical partner.
With this repositioning, Kapital Assurances combines local roots and international standards, and asserts a clear ambition: to establish itself as the leading insurance consulting firm in Senegal, with a natural projection towards the sub-region and expanding industrial ecosystems.
