The Agency for the Promotion of Investments in Mauritania (APIM), attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, has changed its leadership. Since September 30, 2025, it has been under the leadership of Tah Ahmed Meouloud, an economist by training and a figure from the business world.
With a long career in the private sector, where he has held strategic positions and led structuring projects, the new general manager brings expertise considered crucial for the future.
His mission is clear: to reposition Mauritania as an attractive destination in a global environment marked by increased competition among countries to attract foreign capital. To achieve this, two main axes dominate his roadmap: valorizing the country’s assets and strengthening the brand image with investors and international partners.
The APIM, considered a central instrument of the attractiveness policy, will therefore have to streamline and secure administrative procedures. The stated objective is to facilitate the establishment of companies with a strong social and economic impact, and to transform the agency into a true growth driver for the national economy.
