Organized by AIIF Global Advisory, the gathering will bring together bankers, investors, regulators and institutions from Europe, Africa and the Gulf on 5\u20136 October 2026 at the H\u00f4tel Pr\u00e9sident Wilson in Geneva, around Islamic and ethical finance \u2014 with a particular focus on the investment corridor between the African diaspora and Europe.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Dakar \/ Geneva, 28 September 2026<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

In just one week, Geneva will become, for two days, the world capital of Islamic and ethical finance. On 5\u20136 October 2026, the Ethical Finance Forum Geneva 2026 (EFF Geneva 2026) will bring together, at the five-star H\u00f4tel Pr\u00e9sident Wilson on the shores of Lake Geneva, bank executives, institutional investors, regulators and business leaders from Europe, Africa and the Gulf, to take an unflinching look at a fast-growing sector \u2014 and, in particular, to explore how to better connect African diaspora savings to investment opportunities on the continent.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event is organized by AIIF Global Advisory, led by its President & CEO, Mouhamadou Lamine Mback\u00e9, who is also the founder and organizer of the Dakar International Islamic Finance Forum, West Africa’s reference gathering for Islamic finance for nearly a decade. With EFF Geneva 2026, AIIF Global Advisory takes a new step: carrying, from the Swiss financial marketplace, a strong African voice into a global conversation still largely dominated by other regions.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Two-Sided Reality: Strong Demand, Still-Limited Supply<\/b><\/p>\n

The programme opens on 5 October with a plenary devoted to a 360\u00b0 review of Islamic finance in Europe: despite growing demand, driven notably by Muslim diaspora communities, the supply of Sharia-compliant products and institutions remains embryonic, with the notable exception of the United Kingdom and Germany. Speakers expected to take part include Anouar Hassoune (Director General, GCR Ratings), Omar Shaikh (Director General, Global Ethical Finance Initiative), John Sandwick (independent consultant in Islamic wealth and asset management, Geneva), Ibrahim Bilgin (Head of Legal, KT Bank AG \u2014 the only full-service participation bank operating on the European continent) and Pontus Selander (Saturna Capital, whose Amana Funds rank among the longest-established halal asset managers in the world).<\/span><\/p>\n

The African Diaspora: An Investment Reservoir Waiting to Be Mobilized<\/b><\/p>\n

The afternoon of 5 October will be devoted to a question at the heart of the continent’s priorities: how to turn African diaspora savings into real, productive investment? Around this plenary, leading West African financial players are expected, including Issa Malgoubri (Chairman & CEO, SGI Image Finances Internationales, a Platinum partner of the Forum), Boubacar Correa (CEO, Tamweel Africa Holding) and Ababacar Diaw, CEO of Impaxis Securities, discussing the instruments \u2014 sovereign bonds, banking structures, securitization \u2014 capable of channelling these flows toward concrete projects in Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n

Social Finance and the Sustainable Development Goals<\/b><\/p>\n

On 6 October, a third plenary will widen the lens to social and ethical finance in service of the Sustainable Development Goals, from institutional philanthropy to structured finance, with the participation of figures active in philanthropy and social impact in West Africa.<\/span><\/p>\n

An Open Invitation, One Week Out<\/b><\/p>\n
