Over a longer period, it has multiplied by 24 since the start of BRVM activities on September 16, 1998, when it was 836.19 billion FCFA.<\/p>\n<p>This market capitalization of the stock market is mainly driven by the Financial Services sector, which represents 44.16% of the total. It is followed by the Telecommunications and Basic Consumption sectors, representing 33.36% and 12.54% of this capitalization respectively. These three sectors thus account for 90.06% of the BRVM stock market capitalization.<\/p>\n<p>Among the 47 listed companies, SONATEL SN, ORANGE CI, SOCIETE GENERALE CI, ECOBANK TRANSNATIONAL INCORPORATED TG, and CORIS BANK INTERNATIONAL BF occupy the top five positions and represent 49.16% of the total market capitalization of the stock market.<\/p>\n<p>The upward trend observed since the beginning of the year can be appreciated in light of the general evolution of capital markets globally and, more specifically, on the African continent, where several stock exchanges are also recording significant performances.
