The announcement was made on July 23, 2026, on the company&#8217;s X account.<\/p>\n<p>The project is being developed by Dallaglio Investments, a subsidiary of Padenga Holdings. Eventually, the solar installation is expected to reach a capacity of 16.4 MW. According to the company, around 8.2 MW is expected to be fed into the national electricity grid under Zimbabwe&#8217;s current net metering mechanism.<\/p>\n<p>The first phase includes 42 rows of solar panels, seven inverters, and a 5.5 MW transformer station designed to directly power the mine&#8217;s facilities. The project is based on solar tracking technology, which, according to the company, allows for electricity production for 10 to 11 hours per day, compared to around six hours for fixed solar systems.<\/p>\n<p>According to the company, this infrastructure is expected to enhance the mine&#8217;s energy supply, particularly for ore processing facilities that require continuous power supply.
