On July 11, 2026, the Minister of Planning and Development, Souleymane Diarrassouba, and Ahunna Eziakonwa, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Director of the Regional Bureau for Africa of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), formalized the strengthening of their cooperation. During the African Economic Conference, this meeting allowed for the discussion of a common roadmap aimed at mobilizing the necessary resources and accelerating the structural reforms planned within the framework of the National Development Plan (NDP) 2026-2030.<\/p>\n

In a context marked by the contraction of official development assistance and concessional financing, both parties emphasized the need to diversify sources of financing. The Ivorian government intends to rely in particular on public-private partnerships, private investments, climate financing, and other innovative mechanisms, including the recycling of public assets.<\/p>\n

The UNDP, for its part, is expected to provide technical support in several areas, including monitoring and evaluation, statistical production, impact measurement of public policies, and strengthening of human capital. This cooperation aims to support the implementation of Ivory Coast’s development priorities.<\/p>\n

According to the data provided, the budget of UNDP commitments in Ivory Coast increased from 30.07 billion CFA francs (52.3 million dollars) for the period 2015-2017, to 41.98 billion CFA francs (73 million dollars) for the period 2017-2020. A figure of 99.3 million dollars is mentioned for the period between 2026 and 2030.<\/p>\n
