The President of the Republic, Romuald Wadagni, continues to structure his presidential apparatus. By decree No. 2026-340 of June 1, 2026, he appointed Nicolas Simel Ndiaye as coordinator of the Presidential Strategic Support Office (BASE-PR), a new entity placed under the direct authority of the head of state.<\/p>\n

This appointment comes the day after the official creation of the Strategic Support Office, as stipulated by decree No. 2026-339. The structure is part of the governance framework put in place since Romuald Wadagni’s inauguration on May 24, with the ambition to accelerate the implementation of government reforms and priority projects.<\/p>\n

According to the founding texts, the BASE-PR will be responsible for ensuring the strategic and operational management of high-impact projects, monitoring their implementation, and helping to overcome obstacles that may delay their execution. The stated objective is to strengthen coordination between the relevant administrations to ensure the fulfillment of government commitments within the set deadlines.<\/p>\n

The choice of Nicolas Simel Ndiaye appears consistent with this direction. A specialist in strategy and public transformation issues, he is already familiar with government delivery mechanisms. A former advisor at the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Benin, he had notably coordinated a strategic support unit dedicated to monitoring economic reforms. His career has also taken him to Deloitte France and French-speaking Africa, where he has supported several governments and institutions in project management.<\/p>\n

A graduate of Sciences Po Paris and HEC Paris, the Franco-Senegalese is also known for his intellectual commitment through the think tank “L’Afrique des Id\u00e9es.”<\/p>\n

With this appointment, President Wadagni is counting on a profile experienced in coordination and execution issues to translate his mandate priorities into concrete results.<\/p>\n
