Brazzaville prepares to welcome African finance<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five days before the official start of the 2026 Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), Brazzaville is gradually gearing up for one of the largest economic and financial events on the continent. Scheduled from May 25 to 30 at the International Conference Center in Kint\u00e9l\u00e9, the event will bring together heads of state, finance ministers, central bank governors, investors, multilateral institutions, regional banks, private sector actors, and representatives of African civil society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This edition comes at a time marked by pressure on African public finances, the challenges of mobilizing continental savings, the increasing need for infrastructure, energy transition, and debates on the reform of the international financial architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlight of May 25: Africa Day opens the Meetings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Monday, May 25, 2026, from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm (GMT+1), the Mfoa Plenary Hall of the International Conference Center in Kint\u00e9l\u00e9 will host the official celebration of Africa Day, which will symbolically kick off the 2026 Annual Meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organized jointly by the AfDB, the Congolese government, and the African Union Commission, this ceremony aims to blend diplomacy, culture, and African identity in an atmosphere that is both institutional and festive.
