Lom\u00e9, May 4, 2026 – The first edition of the Togo Media Foot Festival took place on Saturday, May 2, 2026 on the synthetic field of the University of Lom\u00e9. Under the sign of conviviality, sport, and fraternity, this day was a real success, thanks to the strong mobilization of various institutions, organizations, and teams.<\/p>\n

Organized as part of World Press Freedom Day, the festival achieved its objectives: to create a networking space, offer a moment of relaxation to the Togolese media community, and strengthen fraternal ties.<\/p>\n

On the sports side, 33 matches were played with around thirty goals scored. The Togolese Association of Online Private Press (ATOPPEL) won the trophy of the first edition against Radio Carr\u00e9 Jeunes in the final. The Fair Play trophy was awarded to the Ministry of Communication team. In total, 8 trophies and 55 medals were awarded.<\/p>\n

The organizing committee thanks the Ministry of Communication and the Ministry of Youth and Sports for their support and the effective presence of the ministers at the opening ceremony. It expresses its gratitude to the President of the University of Lom\u00e9 for providing the synthetic field.<\/p>\n

The organizing committee also salutes the commitment of professional organizations of the Togolese press, as well as all colleagues for their quality media coverage. Homage is paid to the participating teams for their fair play and passion. Finally, the Committee sincerely thanks all sponsors and partners for their essential support for the sustainability of the festival.<\/p>\n

Building on this success, the organizing committee is preparing a more ambitious, inclusive, and radiant 2nd edition. It already issues a solemn call to companies, institutions, patrons, and partners: sponsoring the Togo Media Foot Festival is to associate with a unifying event that values sport, strengthens the cohesion of the Togolese press, and offers great national visibility. All good intentions are invited to join the adventure.<\/p>\n
