Khalid Alabbadan has been appointed regional director of the Moroccan office of Ghana Reinsurance PLC. A seasoned professional in the insurance and reinsurance sector, he has extensive experience in leadership positions and technical roles covering the entire value chain of the business.<\/p>\n

Throughout his career, he has developed a strong expertise in establishing strategic international partnerships in insurance and reinsurance, conducting strategic risk assessments, managing complex claims, negotiating sophisticated placements, and overseeing contractual documentation. He has also excelled in leading risk prevention and management initiatives.<\/p>\n

Holder of a degree in civil engineering and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, he also holds a specialized diploma in reinsurance. His academic background is complemented by professional certifications from Swiss Re and Munich Re.<\/p>\n

Prior to joining Ghana Reinsurance PLC, Mr. Alabbadan held several strategic positions, including director of specialized risks and international development at ATLANTASANAD (2024-2025), executive director of the Facultative & Specialty Lines division at Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Centrale de R\u00e9assurance (2018-2024), and vice president – senior underwriter for North Africa at Swiss Re (2016-2017).<\/p>\n

He has also worked as a technical director at MAMDA-MCMA, director of technical risks and engineering at Wafa Assurance, engineer-underwriter at Africa Re, and claims expert at Cerutti Maroc. He began his career in the civil engineering and construction sectors, thus consolidating technical expertise that now informs his approach to risk and underwriting.<\/p>\n
