The vice presidency goes to Aymric Kamega, CEO of ACAM Vie (Cameroon).<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This victory symbolizes the unity of all insurers, both those who supported my election and those who did not,&#8221; said the newly elected president.<\/p>\n<p>As the CEO of SanlamAllianz C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire since 2014, Kon\u00e9 Mamadou succeeds Gabonese C\u00e9sar Ekomie-Afene, who has been in office since February 2020. The new president of FANAF is a graduate of the International Institute of Insurance (IIA) in Yaound\u00e9, the National School of Statistics and Economic Administration (ENSAE) in Paris, and the London Business School.<\/p>\n<p>Kon\u00e9 Mamadou, also vice president of the General Confederation of Ivorian Companies (CGECI), boasts around 30 years of experience in the African insurance sector, which faces numerous challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, the sector faces major structural challenges on the continent characterized by a very low penetration rate (around 2.4% to 3% in 2023-2024), a low insurance culture, and limited purchasing power.
