This growth confirms the country&#8217;s dominant position in the global market for aluminum ore, which it has held since surpassing Australia as the world&#8217;s top exporter in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>In total, 23 mining companies shipped bauxite during the year. China absorbed nearly 74% of the exported volumes, according to Chinese customs statistics. Among the main exporters are Chalco, with 22.1 million tons, followed by the Compagnie des bauxites de Guin\u00e9e (CBG) with 17.4 million tons. The Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 mini\u00e8re de Bok\u00e9 (SMB) and the joint venture AGB2A\/SDM each exported around 17 million tons. Despite a slowdown in the second half, exports still increased by 16% during the period, reaching 84 million tons.<\/p>\n<p>Chinese bauxite imports increased by 26.4% in 2025 to reach 200.5 million tons, with Guinea being the main source of supply.
