The AfricaMed Business Forum (AMBF) will hold its third edition in Casablanca on January 16 and 17, 2026, on the sidelines of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN). This strategic edition will be entirely dedicated to the development and structuring of the sports industry in Africa, around the theme: “From 0.5% to 5% of GDP: the Decade of the African Sports Industry”.<\/p>\n

Through this ambition, the Forum aims to reposition sports as a true industrial sector, capable of becoming a structuring driver of economic growth, job creation, innovation, and continental integration.<\/p>\n

Long perceived mainly as a field of performance and entertainment, the sports industry now emerges as a transversal economy, at the intersection of infrastructure, media, technology, health, education, agriculture, tourism, and diplomacy. While the global sports market is estimated at over $700 billion, the contribution of the African continent remains marginal, representing less than 0.5% of the continental GDP. The AfricaMed Business Forum 2026 aims to mobilize public and private actors to transform this potential into sustainable economic value, with the objective of reaching 5% of the African GDP over the next decade.<\/p>\n

In this perspective, the Forum will bring together governments, investors, financial institutions, sports federations, companies, startups, and experts around key themes such as financing and development of sports infrastructure, sports business, media and sports rights, innovation and sports tech, digitalization of sports ecosystems, youth inclusion and promotion of women’s sports, sports diplomacy and international influence, as well as synergies between sports, health, nutrition, agriculture, and territorial development.<\/p>\n

The morning of January 17, 2026, will be dedicated to the Club AfricaMed, a strategic investment and action space bringing together a community of African and international decision-makers committed to structuring new African industrial sectors. Club members will have the opportunity to present their projects, strengthen their networks, and initiate high-impact partnerships, in a logic of co-investment and concrete implementation.<\/p>\n

As a pan-African platform for investment, cooperation, and influence, the AfricaMed Business Forum emerges as a catalyst for the economic transformation of the continent. It brings together public and private actors around new African industries that create value, jobs, and economic sovereignty, with a clear vision: to go beyond the game to build the economy.<\/p>\n
