These projects aim to strengthen the country&#8217;s energy security by developing a national system for importing, storing, and transporting natural gas.<\/p>\n<p>The first bid is for the chartering of a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) for the Nador West Med LNG terminal. A pre-selection procedure is open to choose the operator responsible for providing the unit, who will also be able to carry out certain &#8220;topside&#8221; equipment, such as loading arms and connection facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Once completed, these equipment will be transferred to a public entity before the terminal enters into service. The total investment is estimated at 273 million dollars. This FSRU will be connected to the Maghreb-Europe Gas Pipeline (GME), allowing the terminal to be quickly integrated into the existing gas network.<\/p>\n<p>The second competitive bid is for the development of a national gas pipeline corridor connecting the port of Nador West Med to the GME and serving the industrial areas of Kenitra and Mohammedia.
