Equipped with an OCR system for the automatic identification of containers during loading and unloading, these 100% electric machines will contribute to a more efficient operation of the terminal, while reducing its environmental footprint.

This acquisition is part of the five-year investment program approved by the Port Authority for a total amount of 50 billion CFA francs. Through this program, the company strengthens its modernization strategy by integrating new equipment such as RTGs, Terbergs, trailers, and cranes, aimed at optimizing its operations and increasing the efficiency of its infrastructure. This investment reflects the company’s commitment to continue its role as an accelerator of Ivorian exports and to consolidate its position as an essential logistics platform for the dynamism of the Port of Abidjan.

“This investment fully illustrates our desire to equip the Port of Abidjan with cutting-edge, modern, and efficient equipment, capable not only of keeping pace with the constant evolution of port traffic, but also of sustainably supporting the ambitions of Côte d’Ivoire in terms of logistics competitiveness and exports. It also reflects our commitment to enhancing the attractiveness of the Abidjan port, improving the fluidity and quality of operations, and offering economic actors increasingly innovative, reliable, and tailored solutions to their needs,” said Asta-Rosa CISSE, Managing Director of Abidjan Terminal.

Beyond productivity gains, these investments aim to strengthen the position of the Port of Abidjan as a key player in international and regional trade, facilitating the smooth flow of exchanges and supporting national economic growth. “I salute Abidjan Terminal’s constant commitment to supporting the performance of the Port of Abidjan and, through it, the entire Ivorian economy. These investments reflect a shared vision aimed at ushering in a new era for our port, on the eve of its 75th anniversary. These cranes further enhance the complementarity of Abidjan’s port terminals, thus consolidating our position as a modern, competitive, and future-oriented port hub,” congratulated Hien SIE, General Director of the Autonomous Port of Abidjan.

With these new equipment, Abidjan Terminal continues its mission: to offer its clients a service that is increasingly fast, safe, and competitive, while embedding its operations sustainably in a responsible performance approach, in service of the economic development of Côte d’Ivoire.

Abidjan Terminal, the concessionaire of the first container terminal at the Port of Abidjan, received on November 2, 2025, two new quay cranes (STS – Ship To Shore), intended to strengthen and modernize its handling equipment fleet, bringing the total number of quay cranes owned by Abidjan Terminal to seven (7).
