The agreement to this effect was signed on August 12, 2025 in Lom\u00e9 by the Minister of Environment, Katari Foli-Bazi, and a Luxembourgish delegation.<\/p>\n<p>According to both parties, this marks the continuation and expansion of efforts already initiated by the PALCC launched in 2017. This first phase, with 10.6 million euros from the EU, had laid the foundations for the preservation of natural resources and the development of agroecology in strategic protected areas.<\/p>\n<p>An expanded strategy<\/p>\n<p>The PALCC+ aims to go further. The program will target sustainable management of urban waste in six major Togolese cities, the modernization of sorting and recycling infrastructure, the preservation of priority parks such as Fazao-Malfakassa in the north, and the strengthening of the fight against poaching and deforestation.<\/p>\n<p>It will also include the structuring of value chains around non-timber forest products and agricultural products, the restoration of degraded peripheral areas, particularly along the Mono River, as well as hydro-agricultural development projects.<\/p>\n<p>Based on projections from the first PALCC, nearly 17,000 households are expected to directly benefit from the program, totaling approximately 1.15 million direct and indirect beneficiaries across the entire territory.<\/p>\n<div class=\"pdfprnt-buttons pdfprnt-buttons-post pdfprnt-top-bottom-left\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In its fight against climate change, Togo will benefit from a financing of 22.5 million euros (approximately 14.7 billion CFA francs) granted by Luxembourg, with the support of the European Union, as part of the Support Program for the Fight against Climate Change and Biodiversity Protection (PALCC+).
