In the context of its CSR commitment and participation in the “Green Plan” program of the National Institute of Directors of Ivory Coast (INAD-CI), Banque Atlantique, a subsidiary of the pan-African group Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP), continues its action in favor of forest preservation in Ivory Coast. On Saturday, June 28, 2025, the bank organized a new reforestation campaign covering five hectares in the classified forest of B\u00e9t\u00e9fia, near Yamoussoukro. With this second operation, the total reforested area since the beginning of the partnership in 2024 now reaches ten hectares, out of a total goal of 25 hectares by 2029.<\/p>\n

The operation was coordinated by INAD-CI, with the support of the Academy of the Armed Forces of Ivory Coast (AFA) in Zambakro and the support of the Regional Directorate of Water and Forests of the Autonomous District of Yamoussoukro. This project mobilized members of the bank’s Management Committee, several employees, and a hundred active officer students from the Officer Training School, in a spirit of solidarity and commitment to planet protection.<\/p>\n

“This second reforestation campaign confirms our stated intention to build a sustainable, structured and meaningful CSR action for future generations,” said Mr. Ars\u00e8ne COULIBALY, Managing Director of Banque Atlantique C\u00f4te d’Ivoire.<\/p>\n

Prior to this operation, a pedagogical conference on the theme “Carbon credit: understanding and implementation elements” was held on June 26. Led by Dr. Doudjo OUATTARA, Associate Researcher at the Swiss Center for Scientific Research (CSRS), it aimed to raise awareness among employees about the issues related to carbon finance and ecological transition.<\/p>\n

Through this initiative, Banque Atlantique reaffirms its commitment to bring together stakeholders around projects with a strong environmental and societal impact. This approach is fully integrated into the CSR strategy of the BCP Group, which places the preservation of natural resources and climate resilience at the heart of its priorities.<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that a first reforestation operation was carried out in June 2024 in the classified forest of Audoin (Grands-Ponts region), marking the concrete start of this strategic partnership.<\/p>\n
