This is a record order, as it is the largest order ever placed by ATR with an African operator.<\/p>\n<p>The last deliveries of ATR aircraft to Air Alg\u00e9rie were in 2008 and 2014. The deliveries of the new aircraft are scheduled between 2026 and 2028. These ATR 72-600 aircraft, equipped with PW127XT engines, will have 72 seats and will be operated by a new regional subsidiary of Air Alg\u00e9rie called Domestic Airlines. This new entity will be responsible for domestic flights, particularly to the south of Algeria.<\/p>\n<p>Air Alg\u00e9rie, the largest ATR customer in Africa, has been operating ATR aircraft since 2003. Its current fleet includes 12 ATR 72-500 and 3 ATR 72-600 aircraft.
