From 24 to 28 February 2025, Congo Terminal organised the 1st regional Kaizen, bringing  together the terminal’s teams as well as business experts and Operational Excellence teams  from other Group entities: Benin, Cameroon, Ghana, C\u00f4te d’Ivoire, Guinea and Nigeria. The  aim is to improve the productivity of terminal tractors and reduce waiting times for gantry  cranes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This project is part of Congo Terminal’s many initiatives to improve the productivity of ships  and gantry cranes serving its lines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a week, three teams worked together to solve the three main problems: reducing terminal tractor journey times, reducing terminal tractor waiting times for loading, and optimising shift  changeover times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018This first Kaizen was a success for us. We’ve come away enriched with new measures to  implement to optimise our operations, as well as an effective method that we can apply  regularly to continually improve. This collective intelligence has enabled us to develop best  practices that can be implemented in all countries<\/em>,\u2019 explains Sandrine WAMY, Congo Terminal  Operations Manager. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018The Regional Kaizen 2025 at Congo Terminal was a successful 1st edition. The team showed  that we can collectively find solutions with immediate impact in a short format. Kaizen is a collective improvement project that brings together business experts and  Operational Excellence teams to address the problems of a particular terminal. The aim of this  approach is to provide practical solutions that can be implemented quickly, to learn together  about Operational Excellence methods and to replicate the best practices tested in other  terminals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operational Excellence is now present in most AGL terminals and is being rolled out across  the logistics units. www.congo-terminal.net<\/p>\n
