The vehicles \u2013 mainly&nbsp; saloon and city cars or construction machines \u2013 were transported on the MATORELL and PLEIADES&nbsp; SPIRIT vehicle carriers from Thailand, China, Japan, South Africa and India.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This performance is all the more remarkable as the fleet occupancy rate was 95% when the MATORELL&nbsp; docked and 70% when the PLEIADES SPIRIT came in. The number of vehicles handled in one week&nbsp; equates to 82% of the average monthly traffic of the Ro-Ro terminal and 78% of all vehicles handled in&nbsp; August.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>TERRA achieved record rates of 115 units\/hour on the MATORELL and 121 units\/hour on the&nbsp; PLEIADES SPIRIT during the operations, more than doubling the rate of 50 units\/hour set out in the&nbsp; concession agreement with the Autonomous Port of Abidjan.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>This performance stems from the expertise of our operational teams and our efforts to modernise the&nbsp; Abidjan Ro-Ro terminal. We fully intend to continue in this vein in the aim of accommodating and&nbsp; operating ro-ro ships with higher capacities to cover the needs of our customers in C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire and in&nbsp; the subregion,<\/em>\u201d said Jo\u00ebl Broux, Managing Director of TERRA.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After being awarded the &#8220;Green Terminal&#8221; label in June 2022 for effectively reducing the environmental&nbsp; impact of its activities, the Abidjan Ro-Ro terminal is now endeavouring to consolidate its environmental&nbsp; approach by recovering and recycling waste, supporting environmental initiatives and acquiring more&nbsp; energy-efficient equipment.<\/p>\n<div class=\"pdfprnt-buttons pdfprnt-buttons-post pdfprnt-top-bottom-left\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The TERRA terminal which handles roll on roll off vessels at the port of Abidjan dealt with over 2,687&nbsp; vehicles between 22 and 29 August 2022, chalking up a record performance.
