Kribi Conteneurs Terminal, operator of the container terminal of the Autonomous Port of Kribi, has been <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>granted the Green Terminal label following the audit conducted between 17 and 18 March 2022 by <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Bureau Veritas. This label rewards the efforts made by the company to reduce the impact of its activities <\/span>\u00a0on the environment by implementing eco-responsible measures.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The audit was conducted by Bureau Veritas experts and based on the eight pillars of the labelling <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>process. This process includes work procedures, building infrastructure in line with international <\/span>\u00a0standards, waste management and training employees in best environmental practices.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Committed to a vast investment programme, Kribi Conteneurs Terminal has been rewarded for the <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>quality of its facilities, built in line with the latest international standards. The terminal also has a rainwater <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>and wastewater treatment plant, which ensures efficient management of discharges and waste. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Implementing systems to digitise activities has made it possible to significantly reduce the greenhouse <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>gas emissions released by stakeholders (scope 3). In terms of a dedicated power supply, Kribi <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Conteneurs Terminal uses the hydro power network, avoiding the use of diesel. Each year, the company <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>also carries out actions of solidarity in key sectors such as health and education, while participating in <\/span>\u00a0the fluidity of the supply chain in Cameroon and the countries of the sub-region.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>This label rewards the efforts made by the Kribi Conteneurs Terminal teams to reduce the impact on\u00a0 <\/span><\/i>the environment by implementing eco-responsible measures. This distinction, which goes beyond being <\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/i>a privilege, is a responsibility that commits us to continue our efforts to further reduce the environmental <\/span><\/i>\u00a0impact of our activities,\u201d <\/span><\/i>states Eric Lavenu, Managing Director of Kribi Conteneurs Terminal.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bollor\u00e9 Ports, a leading operator of port terminals in Africa, Asia and America, launched the \u201cGreen\u00a0 <\/span>Terminal\u201d environmental labelling process in June 2021, which aims to reduce the carbon footprint of its <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>activities by using a precise methodology that covers all environmental issues. A first in the port sector, <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>this approach has been validated by Bureau Veritas, one of the world’s leading companies in testing, <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>inspection and certification.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
