Africa50, an infrastructure investment platform in Africa and Power Grid Corporation of India, an Indian state-owned power generation company, signed a joint development agreement to launch Africa’s first power transmission PPP project in Kenya .<\/p>\n

The project includes the development, financing, construction and operation of the 400 kV Lessos – Loosuk and 220 kV Kisumu – Musaga transmission lines under a public-private partnership (PPP). When completed, it will be the first independent electricity transmission network (IPT) in Kenya. And establish a benchmark in Africa as the first financing of transmission lines on a PPP basis.<\/p>\n

Under the terms of the agreement, Power Grid, one of the world’s leading electric transmission utilities, will contribute technical and operational know-how to the project, while Africa50 will provide development expertise. and project financing.<\/p>\n
