The aim is to enable learners, from children to executives and public decision-makers, to follow a school and university course which will take them to UK establishments. This strategic partnership was initialed by Mohamed Abdellahi Yaha, owner and CEO of Maurilog and Matthew Anderson, MD of TVET UK.

The launch of edUKate was made during a webinar bringing together British and Mauritanian education specialists, under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education of Mauritania and the ambassadors of the two respective countries, who welcomed this initiative and gave their support to this project. Also in attendance were the two edUKate promoters, Matthew Anderson and Mohamed Abdellahi Yaha.

“EM is an Anglo-Mauritanian collaboration aimed at bringing British education standards to Mauritania. We will do this by helping Mauritanian students to study abroad by supervising them throughout the cycle, in the visa application process and then in the selection of university elective courses. We will simplify access to the UK for Mauritanian students. Beyond university, we will help learners study English and other professional courses in the UK through our network, ”says Matthew Anderson.

For his part, Mohamed Abdellahi Yaha recalled the importance of education in the economic and structural transformation of Mauritania. “As an economic operator, I believe that human capital is the most important resource of companies and countries. Mauritania, which enjoys enormous potential in terms of mineral resources, needs well-trained human resources of the highest standards. The English language is more than ever a passport to access to knowledge and to the business world ”.

Beyond English, edUKate plans to create a health and safety training school in Mauritania with the aim of providing the growing oil and gas industry with human resources of standard quality. As a reminder, Mohamed Abdellahi Yaha is an economic operator with more than 30 years of experience in international partnerships, in particular with Yamaha Japan which has just awarded him the Yamalube World Grand Prix 2020. For his part, Matthew Anderson, Chairman of the Board of British Mauritanian Affairs (MBBC), has assisted many British companies in the search for partners in Mauritania over the past six years

The Mauritanian group Maurinvest / Maurilog and the British TVET UK have just created a joint venture whose objective is to help Mauritanian students and executives to improve their knowledge of English.
