Relieved by the words of the former ra\u00efs who accuses them of corruption, parliamentarians have just lodged a defamation complaint through their lawyers, in this case Masters Mohammadi Baba, Mohamed Ould Ely and Diagana Ibrahima.<\/p>\n<p>During a press conference organized on April 28, 2021, Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz had suggested that the deputies subscribed to the parliamentary inquiry into his governance which covers the period 2008-2019, because they had been bribed to the tune of 300 million ouguiyas, or 828 thousand USD.<\/p>\n<p>According to the local press, the residence of the former president located in B\u00e9nichab (60 km north of Nouakchott) was &#8211; this Tuesday, May 4 &#8211; the scene of a descent of the investigation pole into alleged economic and financial crimes which would have been perpetrated under the magisterium of the former president.<\/p>\n<p>The ex-president&#8217;s setbacks began when he returned to the country, after a stay abroad, to play a leading political role through the UPR (Union for the Republic) party of which he is the founder. .<\/p>\n<div class=\"pdfprnt-buttons pdfprnt-buttons-post pdfprnt-top-bottom-left\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Already indicted for several economic and financial crimes and placed under judicial supervision, ex-President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz also faces a defamation complaint.
