The village and canton chiefs have been deprived of their salaries for a year.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, some 28.6 billion FCFA will finance the collection of household waste and cover the emoluments of command auxiliaries. In this jackpot, FCFA 18.4 billion will have to be directly allocated to the salaries of village chiefs.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to its desire for greater social inclusion, Gabon&#8217;s 2021 Budget marks a major offensive in public investment expected to CFAF 500 billion, up 27% compared to last year. However, the country remains faced with a decline in public revenues linked to the unfavorable economic situation in oil prices and raw materials, the Covid-19 pandemic and a quasi-general strike by public utility employees which has been going on since early July.
