The 20-member government will be civilian with the exception of the Ministries of Defense and the Interior.<\/p>\n<p>The choice of Abdalla Hamdok should be formalized next Tuesday. The last word comes back to the Sovereign Council, which must lead the transition.<\/p>\n<p>Former Deputy Secretary General of the African Economic Commission (CEA) between 2011 and 2018, the economist had declined in September 2018 the post of Minister of Economy and Finance under the regime Omar El-B\u00e9chard.<\/p>\n<p>With more than 30 years of experience as a senior public policy analyst, Abdalla Hamdok has had to take on several international responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>From 2003 to 2008, he served as Regional Director for Africa and the Middle East with International IDEA.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, he held the positions of Senior Technical Advisor (1995-1997) at the International Labor Organization in Zimbabwe; Senior Policy Economist (1997-2001) at the African Development Bank in C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire; Head of the Public Sector Group and Member of the Executive Committee (1993-1995) at Deloitte &amp; Touche of Management Consultants, Zimbabwe; and senior official (1981-1987) at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning of Sudan.
