The African Alliance for e-Commerce (AAEC), a\u00a0framework to promote national and regional single windows in compliance with\u00a0recommendations of international institutions, and Cameroon\u2019s Single Window For\u00a0Foreign Trade (GUCE) have joined forces to host the 7th edition of the Single Window\u00a0Conference & Exhibition (SWC).<\/p>\n

The event will happen from September 17th to 19th at\u00a0the Yaounde Conference Center, a first for Cameroon\u2019s capital.\u00a0Under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Cameroon, HE Paul Biya, and\u00a0under the leadership of the AAEC and the GUCE, the event will mainly aim at tackling\u00a0topics like intra-african trade initiatives and challenges, trade facilitation instruments for\u00a0landlocked countries or disruptive logistics and innovative startups.
\nRepresentatives from more than twenty African countries will participate in the
\nconference, along with development partners and international organizations involved
\nin trade facilitation including the World Bank, the African Union Commission, the African
\nDevelopment Bank, the World Bank, the World Trade Organization, the World Customs
\nOrganization, UNCTAD, ECOWAS,…
\nAccording to Isidore Bayiha, AAEC president and chairman of the GUCE, \u201cIntegrating
\ninnovation into the supply chain must be a priority for us as trade leading stakeholders.
\nWe can no longer wait. Digital technologies are top priority to make Single Windows
\npowerful tools at the service of our states, to contribute to the competitiveness of
\nAfrican economies and help intra-African trade take off.\u201d
\nThe three-day event will be marked by the participation of prestigious local &
\ninternational speakers from the UN, the World Bank, the African Union Commission,
\nECCAS, ECOWAS, JUMIA, or ALIBABA, who will discuss the African Continental Free
\nTrade Area (AfCFTA), opportunities for single windows and e-commerce, major
\nchallenges of intra-african trade and how to boost it.
\nSecond day of the event will focus on trade facilitation, opportunities and challenges of
\nsingle windows implementation and initiatives to enhance the supply chain, specifically
\nfor landlocked countries in CEMAC.<\/p>\n

The latest member countries\u2019 innovations will also be reviewed, with the participation of
\nnumerous African single window CEO\u2019s (Benin, Burkina Faso, C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, Congo,
\nGhana, Kenya, Morocco, Mozambique, Senegal, & Tunisia), as well as the hinterland
\ncountries port logistics with the Autonomous Port of Douala and the Autonomous Port of
\nKribi.
\nLast but not least, the third day of the event will give a glimpse into the future of logistics
\non the continent. During a special event, four of the \u201cDisruptive Logistics Challenge\u201d
\nstartup winners will pitch their projects in front of the distinguished audiences.
\nApplication to join the challenge are now open until August 25th on the SWC website.
\nA tech talk about the e-force (the single form of foreign trade procedures) will follow up
\nand how Cameroon is leading the way with different stakeholders of the field like SABC,
\nCNCC, BOLLORE AFRICA LOGISTICS and UCAM.
\nThe last session of the day will focus on the future trends of single windows technologies.
\nBig data, blockchain, AI… representatives and researchers from UNESCAP, the
\nSingapore Chamber of Commerce, Abdoulahi Faouzi from AAEC will cover it all with
\nthe help of the UNCEFACT.
\nTo close off the entire event, all recommendations gathered during the three days will
\nbe summarized and lectured on September 19th.<\/p>\n
