{"id":464413,"date":"2019-01-24T13:06:16","date_gmt":"2019-01-24T12:06:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.financialafrik.com\/?p=464413"},"modified":"2019-01-24T13:06:16","modified_gmt":"2019-01-24T12:06:16","slug":"tunisia-parliament-approves-a-loan-from-ibrd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.financialafrik.com\/en\/2019\/01\/24\/tunisia-parliament-approves-a-loan-from-ibrd\/","title":{"rendered":"Tunisia: Parliament approves a loan from IBRD"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pdfprnt-buttons pdfprnt-buttons-post pdfprnt-top-bottom-left\"><\/div><p>On January 15, 2019, the Tunisian parliament approved a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) worth \u20ac 81.2 million to the government.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This credit will be used to finance a project to support the quality of the education system at the primary education level,&#8221; said Zied Ladhari, Minister of Development, Investment and International Cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Increasing the number of beneficiaries of pre-school education, building the capacity of children in reading and mathematics, improving the skills of teachers, managing schools, evaluating pupils and fighting against drop-outs are also among the key objectives of the agreement, &#8220;he added.<\/p>\n<p>According to Mr. Ladhari, the credit will help enroll 4,000 children under the age of 6 in preparatory classes over the next four years; and would benefit 9,000 children under the age of 6 in 12 Tunisian provinces.<\/p>\n<p>IBRD is an organization of the World Bank, itself a component of the World Bank Group.
